Parents who are fed up with homework in general, or at least the amount of homework given, please mail me. Why can't school time be school time and home time be home time? I want my kids to be able to enjoy their person interests and enjoy family time after a full-day at school.

It's hard to believe it was 6 years ago that 9/11 occurred. I don't know about you, but after about 2 years it seemed like most things were pretty much "back to normal," except for the long lines and new rules at the airport. So this year, I was aware of the moment of silence around the world... but I didn't stop at that moment to share in it. I was surprised by what happened to me. I was working online, reading the homepage articles about 9/11 on www.about.com, when suddenly I started crying. Sobbing, really. I just started thinking about all the wives who lost their husbands ... I remember reading about the women who were pregnant, and many of them who gave birth that day, in and around New York. And some who did both: lost their husbands AND gave birth, either that day or within a few months. I just started thinking what this day must feel like to these people whose lives were shattered by the life of someone they loved being torn away, and I was overcome with empathy for them. I don't know any of them personally; I have heard people speak about their personal experiences, and it is always moving. Today I was so moved.

I would love to know what other people felt, even if some people barely noticed it was 9/11 -- I've been there before in years' past, too.

my teenager (17) is really mean to my (5) year old out of jealousy or what not . anyway my toddler doesnt understand this . I tell my toddler that it isnt him it is my teen that is kinda wierd right now and i tell my toddler dont worry mommy loves you . now , my toddler was practicing his full name and named us all first and last names . my teen has a different last name but i did not tell my toddler this . my husband says that it is better to leave it alone and not tell my toddler that his older brother is a half brother and has a different last name .

I just was wondering ... when is the appropriate age to tell a child that a sibling is a half brother ?
