Take it into your own hands and get private help. I find family counselling effective, because we all become effected by whats going on and then we can see how each other feels. Just try to spend as much time with her doing things she loves. Talk about your childhood and how u got thru it. Ask her is she has any ideas on how as a family you can all get thru this. Let her know family is always there. Good luck, its so hard to watch your children be bullied.

I too am sorry to hear this. I have a 12 year old daughter as well who has been going through some difficulties at school. This includes being bullied. It had apparently been going on for the past few years and in two different schools.

My daughter kept this inside and it manifested into a deep depression. This in turn caused her to cut her arm over 40 times. Not 40 different times, all at once.

I ran into a similar situation with the school. I was even told by the school guidance counselor that that sort of thing didn't happen in our area. Unfortunately the Sheriff's department and my daughter's psychologist don't agree with her. They said it was a growing concern of this day and age with the young people.

Thanks to a very good child psychologist, an excellent psychiatrist, and Prosac, my daughter is on her way to a full recovery. She is a completely different person from 2 months ago.

I urge you to take the same actions to help your daughter and continue pounding the door of your county school district's office.

You might consider writing a nice letter to the local news media of your issues with the school. Just send a copy of it to the head of the school district first. Chances are good that you will not have to forward it to the news media after all. I used to teach 7th & 8th grade, I know the school systems don't like negative attention!

Good luck and I the best for your daughter.

I am so sorry to hear that your daughter is going through this! I think you just have to keep going back to the principal, and talk to the counselors. Here is a news story about bullying, or there is a web site-- www.stopbullyingnow.com. Don't give up, you can make a difference!
