PROBLEM WITH TEENAGER

MY SON IS 16 YEARS OLD. HE WORKS AFTER SCHOOL AT A LOCAL GROCERY STORE.  HE DOESNT LOOK LIKE A HAPPY BOY AT TIMES. IM THINKING HE IS DEPRESSED. TODAY HE TOLD HIS BOSS THAT HE WOULD BE AT WORK AND DIDNT SHOW UP ON TIME FOR HIS SHIFT AND WAS AN HOUR LATE. IM AT LOOSE ENDS ON WHAT TO DO WITH HIM. HE SAYS WE ARE TO STRICT ON HIM AND THAT WE HATE HIM. HE SAYS HE HAS TO DO EVERYTHING AROUND THE HOUSE , WHICH ALL HE HAS TO DO IS HIS DAILY CHORES IN WHICH HE HAS TO BE REMINDED EVERY DAY TO DO REGARDLESS. HELP ME. IM THINKING WOULD IT BE A GOOD IDEA TO GET HIM INTO SOME COUNSELING TO FIND OUT WHATS GOING ON BEFORE ITS TO LATE?

I do feel your pain. These are some questions that you may ask yourself... Has my son experienced a somewhat recent devistation or impact on his life that would promote an acting out as a way of relief or distress call? Has his grades been affected - change in friends - personal appearance or mood swings? The things that use to make him happy are they still in tact or no longer considered?
