How can you make a long story short???I got custody of my then 13 year old son due to abuse by his dad back in december. In the past 6 months there has been nothing but problems. He lies, steals, distroys thing and that's just to name a few.i got a phone call from his school this morning. He is suspended from school till Monday and they are starting a PINS petition to get my son placed in a home.I know he need help.My son has no emotions whatsoever,it's like he is a robot.Maybe I'm just venting but I really think I need some input from someone..My fiance and I on a daily basis experience many problems with my son. If there is anyone that can give me some ideas please feel free to respond.

I understand your pain in dealing with your son. However. I would like to ask that you seriously check resources out before making any decisions for his counseling. Ask around especially friends or people you know have had a child in counseling. That is how I found an excellent counselor for my 12 year old daughter.
There is a much darker side to finding resources for troubled teens that I was unaware of until recently. It has struck a nerve and caused me to focus my spare time in fighting this issue. You can read about it on the blog I have recently posted. I feel very strongly about this and urge you to think and act carefully in your search for help. Good luck and my best wishes to you, your son, and your family.

I'm so sorry to hear all the troubles you have. No one ever envisions the hard part of parenting when they hold that little baby. It does sound to me like you have reached the point where you need some professional help-- you can't hope this will get better on it's own. Talk to you state or county mental health department to see if they can help you with some resources.
