Grandparents
Posted by: petunia gold on June 12, 2007 at 11:21AM EST
My grandparents are getting older now, and it seems like every weekend they have to go to the doctor. My grandmother smokes and my grandfather has always had physical problems. I'm worried that I won't have much more time with them. My grandparents are my best friends and my favorite people in the entire world. I don't know what I would do without them. We are so close, but I am affraid the hard times are coming and I won't get to see them anymore. I don't know what to do to help them and I hope that we will have many more years together. All grandparents are special and I know that most teens would rather be off doing other things with their friends, but the time you spend with your grandparents is important. Before you know it they could be taken from you.

This is a good reminder. I just spent last week with my grandparents. We had family dinners together and my grandfater helped my brother and I on a task we're doing. You think that they'll be there forever, but sometime they're going to pass away.

I think we could all learn about the importance of relationships through your relationship with your grandparents. I don't mean to be a downer but in reality none of us know when it is our time to go. My father passed away 5 years ago and I regret not spending more time with him. I know life is busy but we should make sure we have time for the important people in our lives.

i think you should tell them how you feel- let them know how important they are in your life. my grandparents live in kentucky and west virginia so i don't get to see them much at all. as i get older i really appreciate the time i have with them.
