I just wanted to say on the teenagers driving when they first start off i think that they should not have alot of distracting in there car like radio blasting telephone ringing are text messaging are even another friend and the reason i say that is because when u are on the phone are text messaging that most teenagers forget that they are driving and go into coma are when there frined is in the car that they be talking and not paying attention to what they are doing so i think as a new driver i dont think that i would have my child alot of distracting going on

I think in the car there are a lot of distractions inside the vehicle, like the radio, cell phones, putting on makeup, etc. I think if there are less distractions, then there would be fewer accidents. It is not only girls though. Some of my guy friends race down the streets in their cars. I think girls have more distractions, but guys are very reckless. As teenagers we don't have a lot of experience, so we tend to be more reckless.

Driving a car is like a job. You constantly have to be paying attention and driving defensively. There are so many distractions while driving. These include the phone, radio, air conditioning, cds, ipod, outside distractions, etc. These distractions face both females and males. I believe that the fewer distractions you may have the more focused on driving you will become. I agree with all the tips listed for parents to deal with teen drivers.

A lot of guys at our school drive these HUGE trucks, and they speed through the parking lot. They have all hit each other several times, and they park over two spots. They try to back into parking spots, and they throw things at people's cars. I think they are obnoxious and really dangerous. All they are doing is trying to show off and they end up hitting things more often then some of the girls.

I agree with Wilson: “The more hours the better, with that young daughter or son in the car, in different driving situations — expressway, city streets, night-time driving when it’s raining — all different types of situations." I learned how to drive from my parents. My dad is actually a better driver than my mom, so I learned from the opposite parent. Girls want to impress boys these days, so they are going faster and not paying attention when they drive. This is an additional reason why they are getting in more car accidents.

My sister jsut got her learner's permit, and I am so nervous for her! I know that my parents have stressed how important of a responsibility it is, so I hope that she will take that with her on the road!

Although I don't believe that men are better drivers than women, I do feel more safe for some reason when a man is driving. My girlfriends nowadays seem to want to be "cool" and impress other people by driving fast and recklessly. THere are so many distractions from windows down to radio blasting to cell phones and I strongly feel both men and women need to be more cautious and realize they have their live and the lives of others in their hands.

women have a big tendency for car fatalities than men since they are braver enough than us..i rather prefer a male driver than woman, and never experienced a female driver before...lol, i just can't give my exact trust to a girl driver especially when hyundai radiator was of trouble..driver should first take a lot of care and maintenance on his car..
