I find it so very interesting that there is a biological reason behind the risky behavior that our teens engage in. It's pretty hard as a parent to be competing against their brains!! I like the question "what are the possible consequences?" of this behavior. I'm going to start using that with my tweens....it's never too early.

I have always had the mindset that my children were safer in groups. As they get older, I can see how the peer pressure of a group may be harmful. I thought the tips at the bottom of this article were very helpful in talking with your child about preparing him for tough situations.
