Preteens Get Alcohol from Home

It turns out that when underage kids consume alcohol, it isn't an older friend, or some stranger they meet outside the liquor store who supplies them with alcohol. Most often, the source is closer to home.

I have two teens and I honestly don't think they are drinking yet. They would certainly have access to it in our home, and I am very careful to watch and check the beer and liquor. I do know that teenagers go around neighborhoods and " garage hop" that means they sneak into open garages and steal beer from refrigerators. I got this from an older son of a friend of mine. The kids seem to know who keeps the beer outside ( as we do) and they never do it in their own neighborhoods.
The lesson is... Keep your garage door down, and count the beers!
