Britney's little sis...Preggers!
Posted by: Daisy on December 19, 2007 at 10:47AM EST

Well it seems the family Spears will have more gossip to contend with in the new year, and it seems a new baby. I just read this morning that 16 year old Jaime Lynn is expecting.

Now I know that there are a lot of teenage mothers in the world. It's not a choice I would want for my family, but now we have a teenage mother who has a hit television show geared toward tweens and teens. My daughter is one of those teens who watches Zoey 101. Nickelodeon is standing by her choice, now the choice is mine.Do I continue to let my children watch this young lady as her pregnant belly expands before their eyes on tv.?

Where are the parents in all of this. My kids and I will be sitting down again tonight having another talk about making wise choices, because some choices you make stay with you FOREVER.

Thankfully my daughter doesn't idolize Hollywood or the dysfunctional misfits that come from there. She's watched Britney Spears self destruct by making one terrible choice after another. Now she's learned that her sister is on the same path. She just rolls her eyes and shakes her head. Thanks to the many conversations we've had over the years about Britney, Lindsay, Paris, Nicole, etc....she understands that these girls are screwed up and not the type of people to look up to or aspire to be like.

I will absolutely not support a television show that stars a pregnant teen.

My daughter doesn't watch that show, but since she already just rolls her eyes at the latest antics of Brittany, I don't think she will give much creedance to the younger sister. It is a fabulous oppportunity to talk about the consequences of your actions--- rich, poor, popular or not.

I just had the sex talk with my almost 9 year old son! It's about the same age that I had it with my now 11 year old daughter. The reason we had it was that a friend of his was telling him about a 16 year old who was pregnant. My son asked me how that happened when she wasn't married or even old enough. I had to explain it all to him then....well, not all of it! Anyway, so when this story hit the news this morning, my son knew exactly what had happened. I explained to him that she'd made a poor choice and now had to live with it. There is no doubt that her life as a single mom will be a thousand times easier than someone else's due to her substantial income. I just pray she has better judgement than her sister does!
