Starting a conversation with your kids about teenagers and smoking
or drinking isn’t easy. No matter what they’ve already heard about
teenagers and drugs in school, you’re going to sound “uncool.” They
don’t want to hear how one risk-taking behavior leads to others, or how
they can get hooked on nicotine. So how do you talk to your kids about
smoking and drugs or about teenagers and alcohol in a way they will
listen?

This is a topic my family has a lot of experience with.
This video was just another way of getting the dialogue going between myself and my kids. Highly recommended!!

I saw the Connect With Kids/Sprint commercial and am now watching some special on the same channel about the dangers of "Teen Drinking" and all I have to say is "B.S.!!"
Adults are such hypocrites. They drink, smoke, lie, cheat, sleep around, aren't fair or honest or overflowing with all these character traits they keep stuffing down kids' throats with these "character education programs." The elementary school kids learn to parrot the babble back but by the time they are in middle school and see their parents, teachers and other adults doing the very things they tell the kids not to, the kids catch on and see these programs as just "fluff" and disregard it.
If adults want to make an impact on kids' lives with regard to character, values, morals, ethics....maybe adults need to start being truthful with themselves and admit that you CANNOT teach by saying "do as I say and not as I DO!"
